My Baby is one and my other Baby three

This one (Sydney) is growing up way too fast!Claire turned 3 in May, but I don't have my act together.
This gal downed her portion of the cake.

Claire posing her birthday shirt from grandma Jan, then showing her photo of Sydney in the next.

We also managed a deep sea fishing trip in between those celebrations to celebrate Lyndon taking his first set of Board examinations (go Lyndon!).

This was so much fun.

We caught 24 mackerel.Apparently not the best eating, but we think they're okay. Couldn't catch anything else at the depth we were at.

I needed sun glasses and these were some spares left on the boat. Nice, eh?

Then after all of that, I made this last night out of another of Lyndon's shirts. I even died it in food coloring. Shirt of the right is the one I cut and sewed. Shirt on the left was my "pattern" of sorts. I later cut more off the bottom so it wasn't so long. I used two of Lyndon's shirts....yes he still has clothes in his wardrobe.

happy June.

Goal Accomplished

I did my triathlon!! Lyndon brought the girls to cheer me on and I had a good friend drive
with me in the early morning to lessen my anxiety and coach me during transitions (huge help).
Here are my stats:
Place overall time place in age group
126 1:41:14 4/8
Place in swim swim time
142 14:08

trans time rank in bike
2:39 157
bike time trans time rank in run run time
55:16 0:53 76 28:20

I obviously do better in the run and bite in the swim and the bike....but it was fun, hard,
but fun. I also had two naked little girls waiting for me at the finish line. I wish I had a camera at my end. Claire was in lime green underwear and Sydney was sporting just her diaper. They had been swimming in the lake while waiting for me.
The run was beautiful. Through the trees and next to a lake. On my way to the finish I was
filled with gratitude. I was grateful to be where I was, have the husband I have, the girls I do, and be enjoying something so exhilarating -hard-but good. Just like anything worth while
in life-right?
My friend took picts, so I got none here to show ya (thank goodness). Our camera was out of
batteries. Go Figure.
Next goal? Half marathon this August.

The Alternative to Crock Pot Cooking

I tell you folks, this is it....a revolution to your cooking.  I made fish and steamed veggies all at once in less than 20 minutes and the fish was even frozen.  The night before I put a bunch of potatoes and carrots together with some garlic cloves for flavor and had it done in 15 minutes. Clean up is a snap and the food is healthy and well cooked, but not over done- so you keep the vitamins. (if you don't wait too long).

I got a large one at a yard sale for $2, hardly used, and cleaning before use was cinch....just steam the thing- nice and sterile.

You place the bamboo steamer in a pan that fits snuggly around it, add water up to the first tier, put herbs in the water for flavor or sprinkle it on the food, and voila!

I just ask myself why I did not start cooking like this sooner?
